General

Nuon public utilities provides energy to 2,3 million households. Nuon was a Dutch company until 2009, when the Swedish Fattenfall bought Nuon for 10 billion Euro. In 2009 Fattenfall gained 49% of Nuon's share, the rest of the company take-over will take place in steps until 2015.

Municipalities and provinces sold their share to Fattenfall. Depending on the province or municipality this share of the profit is used in subsidy programs to support forward projects.
