The City of Heidelberg started its energy transition and strive to become a climate neutral city: Until 2050 the City of Heidelberg wants to reduce the C02 emission by 95% and the energy consumption of the municipality by 50% and wants to switch to renewable energies. Simultaniously it is becoming an European Frontrunner region performing a successful implementation of Passive House technology, energy saving programs and developing of compatible renewable energy-supply.
